Non-invasive cosmetic procedures are increasing by over 20% per year!

The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) sent out a survey to more than 14,000 doctors and used the results to project national averages for 23,000 medical specialists. The results have an error margin of +/- 3.92% at a 95% level of confidence.

There were nearly 8.3 million surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures performed in 2003, according to the most comprehensive survey to date of US physicians and surgeons by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).  Surgical procedures represented 22% of the total, and  non-surgical procedures represented 78% of the total.

Since 1997, there has been a 293% increase in the total number of cosmetic procedures.

Of all the treatments available on the market, the #1 cosmetic treatment performed in 2003 was liposuction.

It says something that the #1 cosmetic treatment in 2003 for both men and women is Liposuction.  What most people do not realize is that Liposuction doesn't even affect cellulite.   Liposuction is a method of extracting fat through a vacumm and can sometimes even increase the amount of cellulite a client may have.

In addition to liposuction, there has been an increase in the # of body contouring treatments from 2002-2003.

  Abdominoplasty          +42%     to 117,693

Lower Body Lift          +127%   to 10,964

Thigh Lift                    +109%   to 8,806

Upper Arm Lift             +68%     to 10,595

Buttock Lift                +70%     to 3,565

Buttock Augmentation +533%   to 3,885

As you can tell, we live in a society where appearance matters.  But I believe most of us would agree that too much emphasis is put on our body size.  That is why part of our Cellulite System is dealing with the internal issues of self esteem.  There is nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel healthy, but it is the obsession of perfection that gets us into trouble.  There is a healthy balance  between obsession and looking fit.  Our hope is that The Cellulite System™ will be able to encourage a healthier lifestyle without promoting the "Hollywood expectation of perfection".

No one will ever achieve perfection.

It's amazing, no matter how many different clients came into my Day Spa and no matter what size they were, almost 100% of them were not happy with something about their bodies.  Bodily perfection is the absence of life's reality.   The fact is, we will get older and our bodies start to sag, some of us will have children and cause our hips to expand, and our hormones will fluctuate helping our whole outer being to change.  This is life.  But the wonderful truth is that we can make a difference and live healthier and target those areas that have experienced life...and we can help do that with The Cellulite System.
